Summary/Abstract: The area of lifelong education, including adult education, takes an important place among the priorities of educational policy, both at the national and European level. The increasing role of lifelong learning results in dynamic progress on the market of educational services. Also, Higher Education Institutions developed their offer addressed to adult students, proposing, among others, postgraduate studies. Last decade shows that especially institutions of private sector have strengthened their position in this segment of the market at the expense of the public institutions. Based on that one might expect that the supremacy of the particular group of institutions is due to their competitive advantage in the area of service’s quality and offer. The aim of the article is to verify this assumption by presenting preliminary findings based on the research conducted among postgraduate students of different types of Higher Education Institutions.
