Summary/Abstract: State Vocational Higher Education Schools have been part of the Polish higher education system for over two decades. The Law on Higher Education and Science (2018) established new possibilities for this part of the educational sector: short cycle programmes at level 5 of the Polish Qualifications Framework. Taking into consideration the social benefits of implementing short cycle programmes, it is worth investigating the extent to which State Vocational Higher Education Schools are ready to take advantage of this opportunity and broaden their offer to adult learners. This paper uses the SWOT analysis to present the potential of these schools in developing various forms of adult education.
