Summary/Abstract: The religious landscape of the 21stcentury presents the imprint of ideological and socio-cultural transformations that reshaped the people’s perception on faith. Cosmopolitanism and the effects of digital revolution in the field of communication and information brought before the individual a mosaic of religious beliefs. Thus, believers interrogate themselves on their spiritual identity and seek answers on their neighbour’s faith. In this sense, the path of dialogue represents the key to understanding the contemporary religious universe and to bring stability to freedom of expression of each person’s spirituality and faith. The current European and Romanian context brings into everyone’s attention the interaction between Christians and Muslims. One of the first aspects to be taken into consideration on the path of dialogue is the assumption of a set of common moral values that guarantee peace, security, fundamental rights and freedom for all. Through all its forms of articulation and expression, religion must make an ethical contribution to social stability and guarantee the fulfilment and dignity of the human being, more than a civil religion or humanistic philosophy can ever promise or offer.
