Summary/Abstract: The first meeting of researchers dealing with the history of the Jews in Bohemia was organized by the Jewish Museum in Prague in co-operation with the North Bohemian Museum in Liberec in 2006. This seminar was one of the events that were held as part of the centenary celebrations of the Jewish Museum in Prague, titled ‘The Year of Jewish Culture’. As this was not intended as a one-off occasion, the museum sought to establish a tradition of regular workshops. In Moravia, since 1994, this role has been filled by an annual conference titled Židé a Morava [Jews and Moravia], which is organized by the Museum of Kroměříž Region. In Bohemia, an attempt was made to establish such a conference in 1999 in Český Dub, but there were no follow-ups to this event.
