Jan Heřman (1933–1986). Archivist and Historian

Summary/Abstract: PhDr. Jan Heøman, CSc., belonged to the first post-war generation of historians and experts in Jewish studies who devoted their scholarly work to the history of the Jews in the Bohemian lands. As such, he followed on from the tradition of pre-war Jewish historiography as represented mainly by Salomon Hugo Lieben, a figure that was closely associated with the Jewish Museum in Prague.
