Summary/Abstract: This article provides a historical and artistic overview of the Jewish cemetery in Třebíč, a town in South Moravia, Czechia. The cemetery dates back to the 17th century and contains hundreds of tombstones with inscriptions in Hebrew, German, and Czech. The article describes the location, layout, and preservation of the cemetery, as well as the styles, shapes, decorations, and symbols of the tombstones. The article also analyzes the linguistic and literary features of the inscriptions, and highlights the names and roles of some prominent personalities buried in the cemetery. The article concludes that the cemetery is a valuable testimony of the Jewish community that played a significant role in the history of Moravian Jews until the Second World War.
