Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present partial research results concerning the scale of learning difficulties and challenging behaviour faced by primary school teachers in five European counties, conducted as a part of international project Distinct -Developing In-Service Training for Inclusive Classroom Teachers. The authors focused on two areas – the idea of inclusive education and its origin, and teachers opinions about their and school system role in the process of adjusting education system to the growing problem of students’ difficulties.
