Summary/Abstract: The 10th General Assembly of the World Council of Churches in Busan, 2013, devoted attention to the situation of Korean Christianity. Korean churches are rapidly growing, yet on the other hand, they are being divided due to conflicts, both confessional and ideological. The minjung theology, which stresses a theological significance of the strivings for the emancipation from the political, social and economic exclusion, can be regarded the specific Korean theological approach. The article discusses the context of the minjung theology emergence, describes its key terms and assumptions, critically analyses its Christological contentions, and presents its significance for the global ecumenical movement.
