Aging of labour force in Poland - analysis of consequences

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to evaluate the impact of demographic processes on the domestic labour market, with emphasis on their impact on the state of labour force. The article presents the impact of age on the value of lost productivity of human capital in the context of the observed demographic processes. The analysis was based on a study of differentiation in the level of labour force participation rates and employment due to age. She shows the differentiation of parameters characterizing the number of lost potential years of healthy life due to chronic diseases according to age and gender. Using statistical data of the World Health Organization indicated the intensity of the examined phenomenon in Poland compared to the average values observed among the countries of the European Union.
