Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article was to study the image of a foreigner among the students who choose to specialize in teaching Polish as a second language at the University of Łódź. Basing on the analyzed questionnaire one can discover that the students’ opinions were mostly diverse; however, there were some common characteristics. The opposition ours – theirs was very clear, as well as the students’ great expectations towards foreigners who wished to learn the Polish language.
