Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the problems in the process of translating cultural issues from the Polish language into the Slovene language. The analysis is focused on the aspects of everyday life in the times of communism in Poland. The examples were excerpted from the Slovene translation of the novel Lubiewo by M. Witkowski. The translation into Slovene has been made by B. Kern. A part of the article combines the presented material with the glottodidactic aspects.
