Summary/Abstract: The study presents research results covering the twelve-year period of economic development of Poland (2004-2015). Directions and scope of changes in the efficiency of labor resources utilization in the economy as a whole and in three sectors were analysed. The purpose was to determine whether and to what extent the growth was the result of the intensification of economic processes (improvement of methods and structure of economy) and consequently increase in the work productivity. The study allowed to determine how the real level of work productivity in the Polish economy (in general and in three sectors) changed, how the relative level of work productivity in Poland shaped and altered corresponding to the average in the EU countries, and what the position of the Polish economy was in the analyzed aspect and in cross-section among the 27 countries of the European Union.
