Summary/Abstract: The author in the paper analyzes the somatic phraseologisms formed by the component head in The Mountain Wreath first of all from the structural and then from syntactic and semantic aspects. Apart from the semantic analysis, the author applied the conceptual one which belongs to one of the basic settings of cognitive semantics. The author points out that, when it comes to somatisms formed with component head in The Mountain Wreath, it can be said that, in comparison to those registered phraseologisms in phraseological dictionaries as well as dictionaries of literary language or Montenegrin folk idioms they are more or less modified. The more interesting are those typical of the literary language of Njegoše, ie, those not written in the lexicographical literature, phraseological dictionaries. These include those similar to die from head, to die instantly and are certainly more interesting to analyze and stylistically more remarkable.
