Summary/Abstract: The Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the major attractions of the Malopolska province. Over a million tourists visit it every year, of whom a significant proportion are foreigners. Beyond the traditional tourist routes, mine is visited also for health purposes. They use method of spa treatment called subterraneo therapy, consisting in use of underground mining microclimate. Although the underground center has been operating since 1964, it was only in 2011, due to the change in legislation, he has acquired the status of a health resort. The purpose of this paper is to present the size and structure of tourist traffic in the health resort part of the mine. Article has the investigative nature and is based on the analysis of existing data obtained from the Salt Mine “Wieliczka”.
