Summary/Abstract: The author notes the important moments of the emergence and development of military surgery in the world military history. He makes overview of the events and the facts that have led to the creation and development of military surgery in Bulgaria from Russian-Turkish war of 1877–1878 to its current level of development in MMA (Military Medical Academy/. Discussed are the factors that stimulate or hinder its development in an organizational, technical and technological level and personnel development. Comparing guidelines and the pace of its development in Bulgaria in comparison with other countries actively developing this part of surgery and military medicine. Noted the role of the communication and exchange of information with the military medical services of other countries in professional and logistical respects, regardless of the different foreign political orientations of Bulgaria to raise the organizational, methodological and technical level of our military surgery.
