Summary/Abstract: The report examines and analyzes some popular issues about the role and place of scientific medical schools in the history of medicine and provides with own motives for the conditions of their genesis and development. The study seeks conflicting and touching points in the views of different theorists about the scientific schools. A short theoretical and practical overview of the emergence and development of the more famous medical, medical-biological and clinical schools is made from the antiquity to the nineteenth century. In the second part, the Bulgarian medical-biological schools history is examined. A short bios of the inspirers and creators of the biological, microbiological, physiological, histological and embryological schools is presented. Finally, special attention is paid to the founding history and the achievements of the last medical-biological school – the anatomical.
