Summary/Abstract: The texts of dissemination destined to common herd, represent an utility literature, orientated towards the community’s stringent needs. As a palpable thing, in the peasants’ houses „the book for the people” entered as a collection of dissemination texts. Basically we talk about a book addressed to rural population with a low level of instruction. Within it a large range of information intermingled, belonging to different domains, but all searching for an appropriate tone of spreading a popular culture. The main vehicles of disseminating literature proved in time to be some collections of folk’s book (those included in „ The Folk’s Library of Astra” for example, those published in „The Books of Good Christian Library, initiated by fr. prof. Iuliu Maior from Blaj, or in the library „Come and have light” of the Orthodox Bishopric from Cluj) or the publications like calendars and almanacs.
