Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to identify the most important barriers related to the strategic management of a public healthcare entity from a managerial perspective. Considerations based on a case study, together with analysis of legal regulations including selected examples from the research area, allow us to identify significant difficulties and present recommendations for the formulation and implementation of a public hospital strategy.
