Summary/Abstract: The assessment of the innovativeness of family businesses indicates some paradoxes and ambiguities of the research results so far, which justifies research into these issues. The article presents the results of research on the level of innovation of family businesses and its impact on the performance of these entities. Innovativeness was measured by the number of implemented innovations of various types in the last three years and the estimated expenditure on innovations. In the assessment of the results of the surveyed enterprises, financial and non-financial measures were applied. Quantitative research using the direct interview method conducted on a sample of 200 enterprises and the statistical analysis methods used confirm positive relationships between the studied variables.
