Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to examining the essence of civic competencies of future managers and their significance in the context of contemporary socio-economic and political challenges. The authors proceed from the premise that developing such competencies as legal awareness, critical thinking, social responsibility, communication skills, and tolerance among students is an integral component of training specialists who can act effectively under conditions of rapid change and complex tasks. The discipline «Fundamentals of Public Management and Administration» is identified as one of the key academic courses that can serve as an effective tool in shaping the civic competencies of future managers. This study analyzes the theoretical foundations that underscore the importance of studying the structures of state power, mechanisms of public administration, and political processes for a deeper understanding of how society functions. The knowledge gained within this discipline lays the groundwork for further professional development, helping to integrate value orientations and ethical principles into management practice. The article argues that it is precisely within the discipline «Fundamentals of Public Management and Administration» that there is a powerful potential for developing the ability to objectively analyze information, distinguish facts from manipulative statements, and make wellreasoned managerial decisions. This process is closely tied to the formation of legal awareness, which implies a deep understanding of legislative norms, citizens’ rights and obligations, as well as mechanisms for protecting human rights. It is concluded that integrating the civic component into the curriculum of the «Fundamentals of Public Management and Administration» discipline fosters a new generation of specialists with a high level of responsibility, legal culture, and democratic thinking. Such an approach creates the prerequisites for forming managerial elites who work on the principles of transparency and fairness, adhere to ethical norms, and can adapt to the challenges of modern society.
