Summary/Abstract: This article examines self-development as an important factor for the formation of social competence, which is a necessary component of the professional formation of a future specialist in the field of jurisprudence. As a result of self-improvement, only personal benefit (egocentric effects) is usually perceived, but taking into account the approach to the phenomenon of "interiorization", the author assumes that society is the source and final consumer of all effects of self-improvement of an individual. In other words, all important personal psychological phenomena are not only determined by communicative processes in this society, but also aimed at their strengthening. The integration of the individual into society is mediated by two reasons: 1) strengthening of interpersonal ties, which is a guarantor of the safety of society; 2) the development of the personality itself. A rich personal inner world becomes not only a tool for self-discovery, but also an effective tool for interaction with society. It can be assumed that at the deep level, the fundamental psychological regularities are the same for all representatives of society, and personal reflection allows you to reveal all the hidden regularities of its development. Let's support our judgments with the fact that self-improvement is a structural element of such a new formation as social competence. It should be clarified that the author's scientific interest is related to such a professional community as future bachelors of law. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to clarify the importance of self-actualization of the individual within the framework of the mastered profession for the formation of social competence. Both theoretical and empirical studies were conducted to test the hypothesis. The practical examination was carried out based on the results of the communicative social competence test. At the end of the study, it was found that future bachelors of law, who took an active part in classes on selfdevelopment, finding their purpose in society, demonstrated a confident increase in social competence skills.
