Summary/Abstract: Bulgarian folk music is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for contemporary composers who seek a balance between tradition and innovation. Authorial songs based on folklore combine characteristic melodies, rhythms, and specific ornaments with modern musical approaches, arrangements, and genre fusions. Nowadays, the issue of preserving pure, authentic folklore is highly relevant and often sparks discussions. Should our folklore be altered and interpreted to make it more accessible to the new generation, or should it be preserved in its original, unaltered form?
