Summary/Abstract: Toxins represent a typologically extensive group of naturally occurring compounds with an extremely high-toxic potential. The misuse of these substances against humans is difÏcult to prove and requires the involvement of specific instrumentation and specialized analytical groups. The described cases of illegal toxins handling investigated recently in the Czech Republic, i.e. the case of ricin completed production, the attempt to purchase abrin and the case of threatening with ricin and saxitoxin, were successfully clarified only thanks to the effective cooperation of investigators of National Headquarters against Terrorism, Extremism and Cybercrime and specialists of National Institute for NBC Protection.
