Summary/Abstract: Addiction is characterised by chronic impulsive behaviour and the use of addictive drugs or substances. This is associated with negative consequences for the individual and society. The impact of addiction on cognitive function in individuals is well described and it appears that chronic use of addictive drugs and substances can have a profound effect on cognitive processes. Our recent research conducted at Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital may have important implications for the treatment of cognitive function in affected individuals.
