Summary/Abstract: In Warsaw, on April 11, 2024, an international conference was held, organized by the University for War Studies (under the Ministry of Defense), dedicated to the war between Russia and Ukraine and the effects of the conflict on the international security environment – International security in the conditions of Russian imperial policy. Experts, researchers, professors, military personnel, as well as civilians from Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Sweden, Estonia, the USA, and the United Kingdom participated. The event, conducted predominantly in English and in accordance with Chatham House rules, was structured into three panels: the first focused on the evolution of the security architecture in the eastern part of NATO and EU territory; the second – on the actions NATO member states must undertake in response to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine; and the third – dedicated to the methods of conducting military operations. Dr. Șerban F. Cioculescu, researcher at ISPAIM, presented a paper on the geopolitical and identity conflict between Russians and Ukrainians, particularly with reference to the borders between the two states and the way Russia challenges them through military means.
