Iconography of the holy doors from the iconostasis of the revival church "Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary", Ihtiman

Summary/Abstract: This study was written on the occasion of 100th anniversary of theological studies in Bulgaria, the 190th anniversary of the church in the town of Ihtiman, built in 1835, and in memory of my father, staurophorian butler Yosif (Iskar) priest Petrov Serev (02/22/1953 – 09/10/2023) – Hierarchal Vicar of the Ihtiman Spiritual District and Chairman of this temple, and with the blessing of His Holiness Daniil, Metropolitan of Sofia and Patriarch of Bulgaria.The article examines the Holy Doors of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Ihtiman, dating from 1888, with the main emphasis placed on the iconography of the central door of the temple - a cultural monument.
