DRAMA E NIZAMËVE SHQIPTARË NË KËNGËT POPULLORE
DRAMA OF ALBANIAN NIZAMS IN FOLK SONGS

Summary/Abstract: This study analyzes the fate of Albanian Nizams in ottoman army according to folk songs. Colloquialism of these compositions represent real individual, family, social and national drama, where history determines the fate of our people which can be divided in three main parts that complement each other, creating content, artistic, functional and melodic complex. The songs are sung especially about sufferings, expectations, grieving, wars, and messages of Nizams to their families and their tragedies. The songs of Nizams are affectionate folk poetic compositions that bear the echo of grief during the periods of ottoman dominion, speaking of our sons sacrificed violently, wherever their fate destined them to serve and die for foreign country. They expected stoically for hard death to come in the middle of the desert surrounded by vultures.
