Summary/Abstract: : The article, dealing with a little-studied subject, proposes to address the economic dimensions of the disintegration of Yugoslavia, by first carrying out a historical analysis, dividing the history of Yugoslavia into several phases, in order to examine the main reforms and advances implemented. The author also carries out an analysis of the transition from a communist economy to a capitalist economy, impacted by the Yugoslav war, and of the different economic trajectories taken by the countries of the Balkan region after the war.
