Summary/Abstract: The Balkan region is considered the geographical crossroads between Western and Eastern Europe, whose integration into the European Union has been done in a differentiated manner depending on each country. The author analyzes the issues of the Schengen borders and the Eurozone in the Balkan countries through a historical and cultural prism by dealing with human flows and their regulation, Croatia's integration into the Eurozone and the persistent problems due to the fragmentation of territories.
