Summary/Abstract: Cross border marriages no longer represent an exoticism for Romanian law; on the contrary, we find them in full expansion. From then on, practical issues do not take long to appear. Romanian judges or public notaries often find themselves in the context of the unfolding of conflictual reasoning or the recognition of the effects of legal relationships already born in accordance with Islamic law. Given the disparities between the two legal systems, based, in particular, on the public order of Romanian private international law, it is necessary to begin an analysis to identify the legal regime and the standards applicable to the patrimonial effects of marriage at the intersection of Romanian law and Islamic law.
