Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the characteristics of resource redundancy as a contemporary strategic challenge in cluster management. It consists of three parts, logically related to each other, which refer to the essence of the resource approach in cluster management, the strategic dimension of resource redundancy and their assessment in light of cluster benchmarking research. The presented considerations, which are particularly important in the context of digital and energy transformation in the knowledge-based economy, were based on the results of the analysis of the literature on the subject and existing data (desk research). Referring to cluster management standards that promote and stimulate the excellence of this type of management and the entrepreneurial activity of the cluster community, it was emphasized that redundancy of resources may support the development of the cluster. It allows for the use of opportunities, i.e. unique and accidental events and situations, including adaptation to changes taking place in a turbulent environment, but requires strategic entrepreneurship and a holistic approach to cluster development.
