The application of benchmarking in the research of clusters

Summary/Abstract: The article indicates the nature and objectives of the use of benchmarking nowadays, emphasizing the quantitative and qualitative nature of this type of research. The paper characterizes the role of benchmarking in the process of collecting market information. The author points out the numerous benefits of benchmarking implementation in the process of cluster management. Based on the results of secondary research as well as on author’s own research experience the article presents the methodology used in the nationwide research of clusters.
