Summary/Abstract: The right to life is fundamental in international official documents recognized by most states in the world. Also, all religious systems promote and protect this fundamental right, considering it a precious gift from God. The paradigm of the right to life is marked by dilemmas of a moral nature when issues concerning the beginnings of life and the end of it are brought into question. Beyond these bioethical issues, we believe that more clarification is needed when it comes to armed conflicts, generated, or tolerated by different states of the world, conflicts in which human lives are lost and violence that can cause physical death or affect emotional health occurs. For this reason, in this study we aim to analyze some aspects related to the issue of the right to life in the context of armed conflicts and to provide an ethical perspective on wartime homicide from the perspective of Christian morality. In this study we will refer to the universal character of the right to life in Christianity, to the issue of the right to life in the context of the state of belligerence and to the sin of homicide as a brutal form of violation of the right to life.
