Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on non-categorial names of ceremonial actions and acts with the formant -ina //-iny in Joachim Lelewel’s idiolect. The descriptive-recording and statistical methods were applied in the approach to the linguistic material. The aim of the undertaken analyses was to determine: 1) the repertoire of derivatives with the suffix -ina//-iny denoting names of ceremonial actions and acts in Lelewel’s idiolect, 2) unique vocabulary, 3) the conditions of such names’ occurrence in the text, and 4) the stylistic function of the new lexical units. Detailed research showed that the historian’s personal language is characterized not only by a predilection for the use of derivatives with the suffix -ina//- iny, but also by creation of unique vocabulary with this formant, which in the colloquial and informal variety (letters) evokes homeliness, native values, tradition, while in the scientific variety (historical narrative) introduces archaic or elevated stylisation, or is subordinated to scientific factuality (names of religious rituals or names of ancient beliefs).
