THE MEANINGS OF THE PATH OF INITIATION IN POVESTEA MAGULUI CĂLĂTOR ÎN STELE

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to analyze the symbolic implications of the initiatic journey, as it is presented in one of the poems (Povestea magului călător în stele) written by Mihai Eminescu. We follow the steps of the journey (using the kabbalistic Tree of Life as a map), seeking to understand, more deeply, what is the meaning behind the exterior adventure of the emperor’s son. Thus, it becomes clear that the poem contain references to an “inner world” that must be conquered by knowledge of oneself.
