Summary/Abstract: The present article attempts to offer a framework of analysis for the way mass-media has been influencing the design of values, norms and attitudes existing in the present days’ Romania, as they are directly involved in the process of social change triggered by the fall of the Communist regime. Following the argument imposed by media studies in the Western world after the 1950’s, television, and mass-media by and large, are not only one of the most important socialization means, but also a very good way of theorizing the state of societies. And, the other way round, media studies are best broadened by studying objective phenomena using the turmoil defining contemporary history and societies.
