Разкритията в политическата кампания за президентски избори 2016

Author(s): Rayna Dushkova / Language(s): Bulgarian / Issue: 1/2017

The political campaign for the presidential and vice presidential election in the Republic of Bulgaria in October – November 2016 gives rise to research interest and is topical. The campaign discusses the messages of the candidates during their coverage in online media and social networks. Focus is placed on their disclosures in the media, as well as the specific political rhetoric on the part of the candidates regarding their opponents in the campaign. Based on a content analysis and using the descriptive approach, articles in the media and social networking publications are analyzed for the purpose of the specific study. The analysis aims to trace whether the specific disclosures for candidates remain as separate publications in a media or turn into political scandals that are effective enough to discredit a presidential and vice presidential candidate. It also aims to address the question of how much media attention is given to individual politicians, their characteristics and qualities, extracts from their biographies, or it focuses public attention on their political and management achievements. Do individual politicians have a key role and do they shun the parties, institutions and organizations from the focus of the media?

Различният глас – белег за звездност

Author(s): Lilia Ilieva / Language(s): Bulgarian / Issue: 1/2017

The media are a stage, a tribune, a star factory. Stars are the product not only of journalist stories and their own efforts, but also of the times, the public interest and expectations. The image of a celebrity intertwines characteristics of familiar and liked models, and the unique features distinguishing the new star. The speech characteristics of a celebrity are one of the multiple features that build its attractiveness and make it distinguished. This article analyses and proves that the speech characteristics are an important element of the image of a celebrity. Cases from the Bulgarian public scene with typical speech are studied. The speech of the Cuban dancer Alfredo Torres is analyzed at the phonetic, morphological and syntactic level. His unique way of speaking, a consequence of his foreign origins, that adds to, emphasizes and highlights the attractiveness of Torres, is a bright example of the term “interlanguage“, introduced by the American applied linguistics professor Larry Selinker. The study is conducted over an interview with the dancer published in EVA magazine in April 2014 in which his way of speaking is used as a distinguishing characteristic that makes his image unique

Author(s): Boban Tomić / Language(s): Serbian / Issue: 11/2016

With this work we actualize the problem of application of journalistic genres in contemporary production of the press, radio, television and new media. We provide an overview of the different uses of journalistic genres in contemporary media, including identifying deviations and declination from the standardized norms for writing certain journalistic genres. We start from the premise that journalistic forms / shapes grouped into functional genres and, as such, represent the linguistic, narrative and discursive basis of each media. By this way we base our argument on the necessity of the existence of the necessary level of conventionality and standards setting writing techniques and construction of journalistic genres with the aim to preserve and improve the overall media discourse, language standard and increase the informativeness of the media as the most important communicative value and function. In this paper we point out the most common forms of deviation and destruction of some forms / shapes within the genres of contemporary journalism practice. The deviations we see as opportunity to improve the function of the journalistic narrative, but more often we see the danger of destruction of tissue and textual stratification of genres, forms of journalistic expression to new, hybrid and uncomplete forms that reduce the informativeness and increase ancillary or related attributes of journalistic text. In particular, we draw attention to the appearance of hybrid genres that intensify the relationship with the audience, actualize psycho-social relations and suggest value and differential categories and changes in audience behavior. The origin of the work we provide definition of layering genres and point to the potential dangers of disintegration threaten journalistic narrative. We point out potential solutions, the place and role of professional journalistic community, education institutions, science and public institutions in preventing and overcoming this problem.

We are examining the reaction of Bulgarian youths to the Revival Process, the Chernobyl accident and the AIDS virus, and our aim is to follow both youth’s views on current events and the behavior of the media and institutions – as a rule they function differently in one closed and authoritarian political system.

Author(s): Diana Anvarovna Nurieva / Language(s): Russian / Issue: 4/2015

Regional media depend on the general state media policy. However, each territorial subject is characterized by the specific relations between media and state authorities. The legislative acts of the Republic of Tatarstan are considered in this paper as one of the aspects influencing the state policy in the field of regional media. The performed analysis makes it possible to single out the main features of the relations between regional authorities and journalistic community based on the most unbiased sources, i.e., official documents held by state authorities. The priority areas of the state policy, as well as agenda and topics in the content of regional media can be explored without any bias from legislative acts. This investigation also aims to establish the most complete list of sources to study the state media policy for further research on the selected issue.
