Machinima jako przejaw kina niezależnego w Sieci

Machinima jako przejaw kina niezależnego w Sieci

Author(s): Miłosz Markocki / Language(s): Polish Issue: 01/2015

The Internet has proven to be an immensely effective tool in text development and distribution for amateur authors. Never before had the amateur authors so many opportunities for sharing their creations with others as they do now thanks to the Internet. The global network has helped not only with the spreading of independent films but also with their evolution in to new forms. A good example of such new film form is machinima, a hybrid of film and computer game – to be more specific, a film created by using the graphic engines and elements of computer games. Machinima are very tightly connected to the Internet. The necessary tools for creating machinima are available on the Internet and it was on the Internet where the machinima appeared for the first time and where this film form gained fame. Another connection between machinima films and the Internet is the source material for machinima. Many machinima use graphic engines and elements of MMORPGs, which one can play only via Internet. That is why machinima films illustrate very well the nature of Internet independent films.

Фестивалите за „тежка“ музика между почитателите и местната общност: случаят „Каварна“

Фестивалите за „тежка“ музика между почитателите и местната общност: случаят „Каварна“

Author(s): Iliyana Choevska / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 3/2018

The article looks into the festivals for “heavy” music in Bulgaria. The primary hypothesis, proven by the study, is that such events assist in the development of the settlements in which they are hosted, and benefit their residents in many fields,in particular tourism and local economy. The article focuses on the main “actors“ –the fans and the local community, based on a particular case. The festival “Kavarna rock“ is chosen as an example of a most successful event of this genre in our country, with 11 years of history. The study of the opinions of the fans and the residents, the organization and the evolution of the festival over the years of its life time, the issues that have had to be resolved, add up to a comprehensive picture of such events in our country. Even though the event is no longer being organized, the results achieved are an example of development of an alternative form of tourism in our country, which is still underdeveloped.

Author(s): Iva Kyurkchieva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 3/2018

The study presents the interactions between the amateur art atelier SedyankaTA and the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with Ethnographic Museum. Thereby, I propose a possible perspective onto the topic of exhibiting in the Ethnographic museum nowadays. Atelier SedyankaTA is an informal group who aim to preserve and pass on to younger generations the traditional techniques of bobbin lace tatting, kene needle lace, frivolite and embroidery. Such informal groups are important for the sustainability of the museum’s space as a place for communication together with its role as a public institution. The dialogue with museums’ publics changes in the function of the Ethnographic museum as a contemporary center for research and education.

RESISTANCE THROUGH SOUVLA AND KREMALA – PERFORMATIVE ACTS AND ACTIONS IN A PROTEST IN CYPRUS 2013

Author(s): Mike Hajimichael / Language(s): English Issue: 4/2018

This article explores an actual and online street protest which unfolded over a series of weeks in the Spring of 2013 when Cyprus experienced an economic crisis following the ‘bailout’-‘haircut of March 2013. In an effort to contextualize and explore the performative aspects of these events the author links this to art and protest as an expression of alternativeness and an avant-garde spirit embodying resonances of 1960’s and 1970’s art and protest as performative happenings. It is argued, unlike other similar contemporary contexts of economic crisis in the EU, such as Greece, Portugal and Spain, protests in Cyprus may not have been so massively populated but the spirit of performative art was expressed in innovative ways, as documented and shared through social media as an alternative platform of expression, which ultimately fills a void that exists in the contemporary Cypriot political landscape.

Добрият и мъдър кентавър Φόλος

Author(s): Joanna Spassova-Dikova / Language(s): English,Bulgarian Issue: 24/2019

The text deals with the theatrical activity of Prof. Alexander Fol’s father, the theatre director Nikolay Fol, who was a remarkable figure in Bulgarian culture. Emphasis is placed both on his performances at the National Theatre and on his dramatic work. It is noted that he was an artist, intrinsically connected with the tendencies of looking for new forms in art between the two world wars. It is emphasised that Nikolay Fol implemented in his work European quests in the field of scenography, modern music, plastic art and choreography from the second half of the 20th century. His orientation was to the intellectual, laconic theatre, which contains significant ideas related to human existence and consciousness, to expressionist means of suggestion. In the spirit of German expressionism, his directorial decisions were towards the use of conditional decoration, large massive scenes, choirs that talk and dance in a modern style. His productions were monumental, they often touched the audiences deeply with many forms of expression. Critics defined his performances as bright, dynamic, entertaining, engaging. Attention is drawn to the fact that an important moment in Nikolay Fol’s biography is related to his belief that children’s theatre is extremely important for the development of adolescents, prompting him to become the founder of several children’s schools.

Митове и стереотипи в съвременния дизайн

Author(s): Dimitar Dobrevski / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 17/2019

There can be no doubt: we live our entire life, surrounded and organized by design. The way we live, take a bath, drive, feed, and pack our belongings, even how we look at the world through our glasses: all of this has already been designed, shaped, and designed for us. The design of products, regardless of the different circumstances, has been accepted to attribute certain qualities: functionality (usually in technical-exploitation sense), ergonomics, constructiveness, economy, and aesthetic expression. Some other properties and qualities are often unnoticed or more precisely underestimated. They stem from the organic connection of design with a number of other spheres: Social, economic, political, and religious.

Тайнството на маските – урок върху комедията на Молиер „Тартюф“

Author(s): Donka Petrova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 5/2019

The provocative title ”The Mystery of the masks” was liked by the students from 10th grade whose specialty is Interior design. The lesson consists of small parts of the contents of the comedy Tartuf. The image of the main character Tartuf complements the idea for his deceitful essence. The pictures drawn by the students emphasized on his unreal piety and mean glimpse. The main question in this lesson is: why do we need masks? The answer is: in order to recognize the faces of Truth and Lie, to approve sense! The exhibition of masks helped students to choose which one they like more or which picture characterizes them more.
