In the article the author reports about the death of the writer Vasile Alecsandri, in Mircesti, after a serious illness. There have been hundreds of condolence telegrams from all classes of society. The telegrams of Queen Elizabeth, Princess Elena Cuza, Theodor Rosetti, I. C. Bratianu, G. Cantacuzino, etc. are recorded.Many speeches have been spoken. After the talks ended, students at the University of Bucharest took the coﬃn on their shoulders and, in the sound of marching, they took him to the grave. Among the wreaths could be read on the ribbons: Carmen Silva, Council of Ministers, Romanian Commune, Romanian Athenaeum, Romanian Academy, Galati Town, Sturdza Family, Vasile Alecsandri High School in Galati, Bucharest Conservatory, Junimea Society, Iasi City etc.

Pojam parateksta i analiza nakladničkog parateksta na primjeru nakladničkih biblioteka

This paper entitled Paratext and analysis of publisher's paratext in the context of book series analyzes the relationship between books, texts and readers exemplified with publishing paratexts of six Croatian book series in the period between 1969 and 1991. In his important study Paratexts: Thresholds of Interpretation (1987, 1997) Gerard Genette interpreted literary protocols that mediate between texts, readers and publishers and affect the process of reading and text reception. The paratext is the textual, printed "threshold", "lobby" or "entrance hall" of literary text, "undefined zone" or "border zone" which has become an important theoretical tool in the analysis of a particular publishing series. Genette divided the paratexts into spatial, temporal, substantial, pragmatic and functional paratexts. He also distinguishes the publisher's paratext which is in the domain of the publisher and publishing house, in addition to the authorial paratext which is controlled by the author himself.

The article defines and discusses history of professional press with special attention paid to publications for librarians and for people close to this environment. The article presents the origin of periodicals Bibliotekarz and Biuletyn Biblioteki Publicznej m.st. Warszawy published in 1919, 1929–1939. On the basis of the said periodicals, the authors provided content analysis (regular columns) and content evaluation, which proved their librarian character.
