RESTAURAREA UNOR DOCUMENTE PAPETARE AFLATE ÎN STARE AVANSATĂ DE DEGRADARE

Author(s): Lucian Dogan / Language(s): English,Romanian Publication Year: 0

Section I: PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION OF DOCUMENTS IN PUBLIC LIBRARIES IN ROMANIA. MODELS OF GOOD PRACTICE The present study presents the technical-scientificd ocumentation regarding the restoration of two paper documents ( two sheets out of nine) with extreme mechanical fragmentation, written in Romanian in 1863. In addition to the physical-mechanical degradations (blocking the sheets, breaks on the fold line) other types of degradation were highlighted: biotic and chemical. The restoration methodology consisted in unblocking the fragments of the tabs with the help of a solvent, cleaning and biocidal operations. Afterwards, the fragments were sorted according to the assortments of paper, color and graphics and placed in a puzzle system in order to reconstruct the original sheet format. The gap areas were integrated with 31g/m2Japanese paper, and as a final operation the sheets were consolidated by plating (double-sided) with 6g/m2Japanese paper.

UN EXEMPLAR NECUNOSCUT AL CEASLOVULUI TIPĂRIT LA GOVORA ÎN ANUL 1640

Author(s): Maria Zgârciu,Ariana Codruța Leahu,Florin Bogdan / Language(s): Romanian Publication Year: 0

Section I: PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION OF DOCUMENTS IN PUBLIC LIBRARIES IN ROMANIA. MODELS OF GOOD PRACTICE National bibliographies, especially those on old printing are continually developing, both as concerns book titles and unknown aspects of some editions belonging to the already listed titles. More recently identified volumes or those that recently entered the collections of some public institutions reflect suchcircumstances. This study tackles the case of a copy of the Horologion printed by Meletie Macedoneanul, in Govora, in 1640. The work is extremely rare: besides the recently purchased volume by the National Museum of Unification Alba Iulia, it is only known that depicted by specialized bibliographies and held within collecti ons of the "Lucian Blaga" Central University Library of Cluj-Napoca. By completions with analyses specific to restoration propositions and subjecting of the copy held in Alba Iulia to the scientific lexicon, numerous contributions are brought to the knowledge of the Horologion edition from 1640 as well as the Romanian printing in the first half of the XVIlth century.

Emphasis Means in Advertisements

Emphasis Means in Advertisements

Author(s): Galina Petrea / Language(s): English Publication Year: 0

Proceeding from the fact that advertising is a type of persuasive discourse, emphasis is intrinsically one of its most strong tools. The engineering of consentto approve, to endorse a cause, to raise awareness, to undertake some measures,to act in a certain way, promoted by the social campaigns that I have focused onin the article, must indeed trigger a positive response, even if the message andthe visual are shockingly framed in a negative shade. New semantic decodingtechniques like the Conceptual Integration Theory but also pragmatics could beused to deconstruct and reconstruct the meaning which appears as a blending of astrong impact visual metaphor and an emphatic message. Persuasion is evidentlystudied extensively in psychology and research is successfully used in marketingand more exactly products, services promotion, however the same concepts likethe hierarchy of effects for influencing: learn→feel→do, could be applied notjust for the sale of luxury goods but also for impacting human behavior insensitive stringent social causes. The visual metaphors could have a higherdegree of ambiguity and openness to multiple interpretations, or a deficit ofmeaning, so that the textual message comes to place that stress and emphasisethe need to act.

Cele konferencji naukowych

Author(s): Aleksandra Staniszewska,Radosław Zdaniewicz / Language(s): Polish Publication Year: 0

Although participation in conferences is an integral part of every researcher's life, and the number of such conventions organized in Poland is impressive, so far no attempts have been made to determine their universal goals. Trying to fill this gap, the authors attempt to indicate the aims that may guide the conference participants, including organizers and sponsors. Bearing in mind the different aspirations of different persons, the authors set out groups of goals (scientific and research goals, self-development, communication, promotion) that accompany those participating in the congresses of researchers. The discussed motivations are summarized in the graphic form.

Rodzaje i uczestnicy wystąpień naukowych

Author(s): Magdalena Gozdek / Language(s): Polish Publication Year: 0

The author presents the types of scientific speeches and their potential participants - speakers and audience. Seven most common forms of scientific meetings are discussed, which include a conference, a congress, a seminar, a symposium, a summer school, a workshop, and a webinar. Each of these events is characterized in detail by providing definitions, specifying their durations, indicating the possible forms in which they are held (face-to-face, hybrid, remote), and types of presentations (paper, poster, thematic lecture). Differences between passive and active participants in such meetings are also explained. The chapter also looks at other types of speeches, for example those given by academics on the radio or television . Five types of scientists appearing in the media are presented: scientist-popularizer, scientist-commentator, scientist-artist, scientist-official, scientist-politician and their subtypes.

Artykuł naukowy, referat, wykład: podobieństwa i różnice

Author(s): Barbara Hac-Rosiak / Language(s): Polish Publication Year: 0

The author undertakes the task of indicating the similarities and differences between various forms of scientific expression, in which she includes an article, a lecture, and a paper. A scientific article is one of the types of publications in which the author presents issues in an original, creative, problematic or cross-sectional way. It must contain footnotes, bibliography or other scientific apparatus appropriate for a given scientific discipline. The aim of scientists using this type of communication is, among others, to critically analyse the literature on the subject, to discuss research results, and to draw conclusions from them. A paper is a study of an issue, presented in writing or delivered to a group of interested parties. Another form of scientific communication is a lecture. Scientific articles, while maintaining a written form, are the basis for oral presentations, including lectures and papers.

Konferencyjny dress code i etykieta

Author(s): Iwona Lilly / Language(s): Polish Publication Year: 0

This chapter is devoted to visual presentation of the speaker as well as the etiquette to be followed during conferences. Research on the conference clothing and etiquette proved that this is a subject not covered by any scientific publications and, as such, is not even mentioned in general publications focusing on good manners and dress code. The author of this chapter has shown that apart from being able to create proper presentations based on knowledge and merit, it is important for the speaker to display behavioral norms accepted by the academics. For that reason, it is necessary to remember that the clothes we wear for the conference do not diverge from these accepted norms as they are a sign of our respect for others, for the venue and occasion. It is also important to stress that appropriate clothing should be accompanied by proper behavior which, together with a perfectly prepared presentation, will certainly contribute to our success during the conference.

Prezentacje naukowe: planowanie i realizacja

Author(s): Anna Setkowicz-Ryszka / Language(s): Polish Publication Year: 0

This chapter attempts to summarize the principles of preparing scientific speeches accompanied by presentations that enable speakers to better communicate research findings, argue persuasively, and build their reputation. It also includes information on mistakes that make it difficult for the audience to follow such speeches. Presentations should be carefully planned, both in terms of contents and visual aids, so that they are attractive for researchers at different stages of their careers and resonate with different types of audience members. Information should always be selected in a way that helps the audience achieve cognitive ease. Although the structure of a presentation is similar to that of a research article, it also includes elements of building rapport with and maintaining the attention of the audience. The chapter lists the principles one should follow when planning a presentation. They are derived from scientific knowledge on how the human brain processes information, mainly dual coding theory, i.e., processing information using visual and verbal systems, and multimedia learning theory, from which detailed principles are derived for reducing extraneous information processing, managing the processing of essential information, and fostering generative processing, through which listeners organize and integrate information. Based on these principles, detailed guidelines are developed, for example, concerning the amount of text and images per slide, the relationship between written text and images and the spoken word, font size, and even the colors used on slides. The following methods were used in the chapter: bibliographic review, critical review of literature, and heuristic method.

Przygotowanie wystąpienia naukowego: audytorium, trema i próby

Author(s): Małgorzata Syrek,Jakub Sroka / Language(s): Polish Publication Year: 0

The text describes preparations before giving a speech in front of a potential audience. Attention is drawn not only to the need to monitor the audience and react to the signals it sends, but also to the need to prepare the speaker properly, for example through rehearsals, which affect the final effect. Thanks to introducing terminology the content regarding the preparation for a presentation in terms of vocal emission and managing stress can be more understandable. The key to a successful speech is conscious voice management, which in turn is possible owing to the integration of many factors and exercises. The chapter is supplemented with a set of exercises attached at the end of the publication.

Wystąpienia naukowe wzbogacone prezentacją: ocena i ewaluacja

Author(s): Mariola Antczak / Language(s): Polish Publication Year: 0

To answer the question of how to prepare a scientific speech well, it is worthwhile to systematize the rules the speaker should follow concerning both the visaual and oral presentation. Visualizations and infographics make it easier to receive the paper. If they are well-used, they help both the sender and the recipient to organize the content. The text refers to the state of research on evaluation of scientific presentations at conferences, which showed that most publications cprovide guidelines, not research results. Scientists interested in this topic include linguists, psychologists, or didactics specialists who consider using new technologies in the educational process. The subject is also important to people working in new media, often from the practical side. in order to achieve the set goals, an author’s original evaluation model of conference presentation enriched with a presentation was proposed, the use of which is to be assisted by a tool - a table listing the elements that are evaluated, with proposed scores. It is a model that anyone can modify depending on the focus of their own goals. Methods used include desk research, analysis, and criticism of the literature, heuristic and deductive methods.

Ewolucja prezentacji o wynikach porównawczego badania korpusowego

Author(s): Anna Setkowicz-Ryszka / Language(s): Polish Publication Year: 0

This case study discusses changes to the content and form of the author's visual presentation on a comparative study conducted using four corpora of English and one corpus of Polish. The changes were made based on the practical principles of preparing presentation concerning the structure of academic presentations (adding missing slides, narrowing down the topic), the organization of the information, the compositional clarity of individual slides, the amount of text, the use of colors (SmartArt objects), and the use of graphs and tables to present the results. These changes helped create a presentation which is easier to read, and more audience oriented. However, in the case of studies on corpora of texts it is difficult to achieve a good balance between textual and graphical elements, for instance, compared to medicine. Also, selecting illustrations that would be consistent with the theme of Latin expressions in legal texts was not an easy task. In the study, successive versions of representative slides, such as the introduction, the aim of the study, the conclusions, the final slide, etc., are put together to show, using examples, how the principles of preparing effective presentations were implemented.

Ewolucja prezentacji o podejściu ziemian do instytucji małżeństwa w XIX stuleciu w świetle literatury poradnikowej i ego-dokumentów

Author(s): Anna Staniszewska / Language(s): Polish Publication Year: 0

The presentation: ‘Evolution of landowners’ approach to marriage in the 19th century according to the guidance literature and Ego-documents’ was created for the ‘The art of public speaking’ course. The aim was to prepare participants for speaking in public, which is an integral part of any scientist's work. One of the challenges the group faced during the weekly meetings was to develop a valuable multimedia presentation to complement the public speech. A month passed from the time of making the first version of the author’s slides to presentation of its final version in class. The file in both cases was similar, which is a consequence of the use of a presentation template prepared for the faculty with which the author is associated. Although the concept of the speech has remained the same, and the multimedia presentation has not undergone radical changes, the comparison of both files, which the author makes in the article, shows how it evolved under the influence of valuable comments and advice. The analyzed material is grouped into three subchapters. The first of them concerns serious faults, the second focuses on shortcomings of minor importance, which still make the presentation less visually attractive. In the last group, the author lists those features of the document that she had not paid attention to before, and therefore they were not included in the first version of the multimedia presentation
