DEUTSCH IN SÜDOSTEUROPA: RÜCK- UND AUSBLICKE

Author(s): / Language(s): Bosnian,Croatian,Serbian

Slovanský literární svět: kontexty a konfrontace I

Author(s): / Language(s): Slovak,Russian,Czech,Polish

Pre-conference collection Slavic literary world: contexts and confrontations I. consists of 25 studies of PhD students from 15 institutes of Slavonic 5 European countries, written in five languages. Young authors have focused their attention rather to less common issues of literary research within the wide thematic range of conference bringing the new impulse to the contemporary state and tendencies of research work and at least partly illustrating the potential and directing of the younger generation of literary researches. However in the publication there are also present the papers of authors contributing by their genuine research perspective to the continuous academic discourse about more traditional literary issues. Many works are not methodologically and thematically strictly limited just to the field of literature, but they overlap to related fields as the fine arts, aesthetics or translate studies are.

Prosperi,Rune Steenberg,Freya Terryn,Robert Tsaturyan,Jessica Uldry,Halina Zawiszová / Language(s): English

This volume consists of 19 chapters that reflect the titular theme - Voiced and Voiceless in Asia - from a variety of angles, making use of diverse scholarly approaches and disciplines, while focusing specifically on China, India, Japan, and Taiwan. The chapters are broadly divided into two parts: (1) Politics and Society, and (2) Arts and Literature, although the texts included in the second part also deal with social themes. In addition to historical topics, such as Japanese colonialism or Chinese agricultural reforms in the 1950s, the volume also addresses current issues, including restrictive Chinese policies in Xinjiang, Japanese activist movements against gender-based violence and discrimination, or the problems of migrant laborers in India and performing arts in Japan during the COVID-19 pandemic. Likewise, it provides insight into satirical woodblock prints from the Boshin War period or works of literature produced in Japanese leprosariums in the first half of the 20th century, as well as into selected topics in contemporary Chinese, Japanese, and Sinophone Tibetan literature. Collectively, the chapters comprised in this volume narrate the multifaceted relationship between 'voice' and 'power,' thus highlighting the fact that the question of 'voice' is closely intertwined with a variety of social, political, and cultural issues.

Author(s): Nikolay Papuchiev / Language(s): Bulgarian Publication Year: 0

The article presents the results of a study carried out within the project “The Post-1989 Democratic Transition – Interpretations of Historical Change, Social Experience and Cultural Memory in Contemporary Bulgarian Literature,” financed by the National Science Fund, Ministry of Education and Science. The study focuses on two films: Gori, gori, ogunche (Burn, Burn Fire) (1994), screenplay by Malina Tomova, directed by Rumyana Petkova, and Radiogramofon (Radiogram) (2017), written and directed by Ruzie Hasanova. The subject of the paper is the reflection within Bulgarian society during the so-called “Time of Transition” of one of the most traumatic period of Bulgarian history – the changing of the Bulgarian Muslims’ Turkish or Arabic names which the communist government initiated and enforced, at times using violence, during the 1960s and 1970s. The concept of the modern Bulgarian nation shared after 1989 was characterized by the same heavy nationalistic leanings which had been created and sustained by the totalitarian regime in the previous historical period. Some of them shaped the social representations after the collapse of the Communist regime. Using the two movies under consideration, the article looks at some of the main aspects of the changes in Bulgarian society – the collective images, the attitudes towards history, and the problems of group identities in the new social, political, economic and historical period. Along with mass media content analysis, the study is based on numerous interviews with local people. The chosen methodology aims to reveal and discuss the sites of trauma in the collective memories.

Węgiel. Natura i kultura

Author(s): Ralph Crane / Language(s): Polish

While concerns about climate change have focused negative attention on the coal industry in recent years, as descendants of the Industrial Revolution we have all benefited from the mining of the black seam. Coal has influenced significantly the course of human history and our social and natural environments. This book explores coal’s industrial history and the extraordinary artistic responses to coal – in the works of numerous writers, including Zola, Lawrence and Orwell, to the way it inspired painters such as Turner, Monet and Van Gogh, and its place in film, song and folklore – as well as the surprising allure of coal tourism. This strikingly illustrated book provides an engaging and informative insight into the myriad ways coal has affected our lives.

ENALAGA VREMENA I NAČINA U PUTOPISNOM ŽANRU

ENALAGA VREMENA I NAČINA U PUTOPISNOM ŽANRU

Author(s): Bernisa Puriš / Language(s): Bosnian Publication Year: 0

Narrative sequence is the basic configural element (speech type) of the travelogue, on the basis of which its spatial and temporal arrangement is organized. The temporal arrangement of travel narration depends on the travel writer’s awareness of time and their subjective experience of time while writing about the journey. The writer, as a storyteller, has the freedom to choose a perspective, i.e. time point of view, to narrate the travel story to others. In this context, the question of intentionality in choosing verb forms to express travelogue temporality is important for stylistics. Regarding this question verb forms were studied as stylistic indicators of experiential, dynamic, rhythmic, and interdiscursive effects. These stylistic features make the travelogue genre specific and distinguishable from other genres with which it simultaneously exists. In doing so, it starts from the position that the issue of synonymy is very important in stylistic research. Since the subject of this paper is grammatical synonymy in the field of narrative temporality, the paper uses the concept of analogous time and mode, which in the system of stylistic / rhetorical figures means the expression of the same temporal relations in different verb tenses and modes. The research corpus is an anthological selection of 20th-century travelogues from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

LITERATURA ROMÂNĂ DIN VOIVODINA – INSTRUMENT DE FORMARE IDENTITARĂ PRIN EDUCAȚIE

LITERATURA ROMÂNĂ DIN VOIVODINA – INSTRUMENT DE FORMARE IDENTITARĂ PRIN EDUCAȚIE

Author(s): Virginia Popović,Brânduşa Juica / Language(s): Romanian Publication Year: 0

Romanian literature from Voivodina and education among the Romanian minority play a vital role in preserving the cultural and linguistic identity of the community. Literature captures the history, traditions, and values of Romanians in this area, maintaining a deep connection to their roots. Romanian schools in Voivodina actively promote Romanian literature by integrating it into the educational process through various methods. School celebrations and recitations are key moments where primary and secondary school students develop their expressive skills and learn to appreciate the cultural and literary values of their community. Additionally, textbooks are essential tools in this effort, including Romanian literary texts that contribute to the formation of students' linguistic and cultural identity. By incorporating these works into the curricula, a school keeps the literary tradition alive and ensure the transmission of Romanian cultural values to new generations. In this paper, we aim to conduct a detailed analysis of the educational plans and curricula developed by Romanian language teachers for students in Voivodina, as published on the Ministry of Education's website. We will examine how Romanian literature from Voivodina is included in school textbooks, focusing on an axiological analysis of the selected texts proposed in the curriculum. We will also propose criteria for selecting literary texts by Voivodina's writers to promote a more consistent presence of canonical Romanian literature in school textbooks in this region. Therefore, this paper will help improve educational content and enhance the cultural identity of Romanian students in Voivodina.

Author(s): Petr Pytlík / Language(s): German Publication Year: 0

This article explores the paratexts created by Czech literary critics and translators during the socialist totalitarian regime in Czechoslovakia for Peter Handke’s texts. It analyzes the impact of communist censorship on shaping the form and content of these paratexts and examines the strategies used by authors to present Handke’s work within the prevailing political context. Despite the challenges, some authors of paratexts sought to convey the complexity and significance of Handke’s work to the Czechoslovak readership. The article highlights the varied interpretations of Handke, ranging from being viewed as a representative of an undesirable literary trend in the 1970s to a deconstructor of manipulative narratives in the 1980s and beyond.

Kanonska književnost i prikazi nasilja nad ženama: Čitanja s otporom lektira za gimnazije i srednje škole u Bosni i Hercegovini

Author(s): Ajla Demiragić / Language(s): Bosnian Publication Year: 0
