Резултати от изследване на агресивните нагласи и емоционално състояние на студентите от Софийски университет „Св. Климент Охридски“ и Медицински колеж „Йорданка Филаретова“

Author(s): Elitsa Stoyanova,Anzhelina Yaneva,Boyana Mitreva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 6/2022

This article summarizes the results of a study of the aggressive attitudes and emotional state of the students of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and Medical College “Y. Filaretova”. The current environment and conditions of crisis – social, energy, economic, political, cultural, spiritual, value, etc. instills the feeling of fear – fear of disease, fear of war, etc. The lack of morals and stable values, as well as the lack of statehood, unquestionably unlocks in man his worst qualities. Aggression is one of those qualities. The studied students answered two questionnaires, one containing 75 questions and the other 28. The analysis of the data shows that most of the students do not feel respected enough and consider that their rights are violated, but they tend not to respect and/or circumvent the rules, to “maneuver” and tolerate irresponsible behavior. A large number of students have aggressive attitudes and tend to hide them, but in general they are tense, unbalanced.

Author(s): Wirmandi Pamungkas,Nadia Tiara Budiono,Rudy Haryanto,Willy Gunadi / Language(s): English Issue: 80/2023

The recent COVID-19 pandemic has pushed many institutions, regardless of whether they are ready or not, to adapt work from home (WFH) practices. This study aims to evaluate how work stress, workload, work-life balance, and work motivation affect millennials’ intention to leave their jobs during work from home implementation. There were 224 millennial respondents in the Greater Jakarta Area who experienced WFH set-ups because of the COVID-19 outbreak that filled out the questionnaires. The PLS-based SEM technique was then used to examine the data that had been obtained. The results showed a significant effect from working from home on workload, work stress, work-life balance, and motivation. Additionally, it found that workload and work stress have significant effects on the turnover intention. Work-life balance and work motivation, according to the results, have no significant effects on turnover intention. As a result, management should consider the workload and work stress while evaluating the effectiveness of the use of the type of assignment. More factors that influence turnover intentions need to be considered in future studies.

Author(s): Olena Starynska,Liubov Spivak,Alimie Osmanova,Olena Revutska / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2023

The article is devoted to the research of social intelligence as a factor of socio-psychological adaptation of university students with special educational needs during distance learning. Study methods of social intelligence and socio-psychological adaptation are used. The respondents’ contingent of consisted of 78 students with special educational needs. The average level of social intelligence was empirically established in part students, which testifies to their ability to understand properly and the ability to behavior in almost half of life situations. Almost a quarter of students have a higher than average level of social intelligence and the same part is lower than average, which confirms their ability to understand and predict other people’s behavior in almost three quarters and one quarter of life situations, respectively. Students do not have high and low levels of social intelligence. Most students (almost two-thirds) have an average level of adaptability and mal-adaptability; instead, a minority (almost one third) is at a high level. Adaptability and mal-adaptability, respectively, indicate consistency and inconsistency between the needs of the individual and the requirements of the social environment. Students with a low level of adaptability and mal-adaptability were not found. The defined statistically significant relationship of social intelligence with adaptability (direct) and maladaptive (reverse) shows the influence of social intelligence on the effectiveness of socio-psychological adaptation of students. The results of the research proved that social intelligence is a factor of socio-psychological adaptation of students with special educational needs during distance learning.

Not So Much an Axiomatic System, More a Taxonomy of Educational Objectives

Author(s): Phil Budgell,Mitko Kunchev / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2023

Abstract. By analysing, in detail, the requirements of any axiomatic system, the authors have concluded that it is not possible to ‘Axiomatize the Education System’ in any meaningful way; the process cannot comply with the demands of axiomatization: – the education system is so large and complex and the number of objectives is(seemingly) endless; – although it is possible to formulate a system of objectives for education, they are not derived deductively from prior objectives; – it is not possible to demonstrate that the objectives are derived from the rules of logic; nor that – the objectives follow logically from a number of objectives that are in turn the logical result of other objectives. The authors have therefore adapted the process in order to construct a high-level description of the education system; i.e. ‘A Taxonomy of Educational Objectives’ with First and Second Order Objectives. They have also concluded that an approach using ‘facilitated workshops’ would be very useful in the professional development of politicians, administrators, school leaders, teachers and students.

Analysis of the Needs of Social Workers Regarding Their Utilization of ICT in the System of Provision of Social Services (Kyiv City, Ukraine)

Analysis of the Needs of Social Workers Regarding Their Utilization of ICT in the System of Provision of Social Services (Kyiv City, Ukraine)

Author(s): Tetiana Liakh,Tetiana Spirina,Alina Dulia,Ruslan Horchynskyi / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2022

The use of information and communication technologies (ICT) is an important element in the work of social workers. Recent progress in ICT creates fundamentally new opportunities for social work in the provision of social services, including high-quality and timely responses to the requests of vulnerable population groups and persons in crises. In the information sector, work in the social sphere requires knowledge and skills in effective search, accumulation, processing, storage, presentation, and transmission of data using computers and computer networks. A social worker must be able to use information and computer technologies both for self-development in the professional sphere and for organizing their daily practical activities and solving socially significant problems. Therefore, it is necessary to form and develop ICT competence in professional activities for the quality provision of social services. The purpose of the study is to determine the ICT tools used in the practical work of social workers in the provision of social services, the scope of ICT application, and the analysis of the needs of social workers in Kyiv regarding the introduction of ICT into the system of providing social services. An online survey of social workers of state and non-state organizations in Kyiv, which provide social services to vulnerable population groups and persons in crises, was conducted. The theoretical sampling method was used, which made it possible to formulate generalized recommendations regarding introducing ICT tools into the social services system. To determine the typical ICT tools and directions of ICT used in social work, an expert meeting was held with specialists of the Department of Information and Analytical Work of the Kyiv City Center of Social Services. Resource monitoring was used for the automated search of information on the Internet. The authors of the article researched the information and communication technologies used by social service providers in their work and highlighted the prospects of ICT tools in state and non-state organizations. The ICT tools that are most often used in the provision of social services have been determined as a result of a survey of social service workers of state and non-state organizations in Kyiv. These tools are grouped into three main categories: communication channels, information dissemination channels, and methods of building online service provision processes. The key needs of social workers regarding the use of ICT tools in the process of providing social services and the most typical challenges in the implementation of these technologies are presented in the article. The authors identified the advantages of using ICT in the provision of social services and proved the effectiveness of the use of electronic services as a quick and effective tool in the process of meeting the requests of vulnerable population groups. The prospects for the use of ICT in the provision of social services are highlighted as well. It has been shown that the use of information and communication technologies in the provision of social services will positively affect the quality of the provision of social assistance and social services. The use of these technologies by social institutions makes it possible not only to effectively respond to the challenges of the military situation in Ukraine but also to promptly respond to the requests and needs of social service recipients and provide them with quality services. The authors presented the main ICTs that can be used by social workers when providing social services.
