Ubiti ili ne ubiti pticu rugalicu: novo promišljanje pitanja Harper Li
This paper discusses Harper Lee’s 1960 novel To Kill a Mocking Bird within the context of one of its essential artistic functions, which is—as D. H. Lawrence would point out for art in general—an implicit and not didactic morality. Through an analysis of Lee’s literary expression and her poetic sensibility of the world she lived in, this paper will focus on her perspectives on racial issues, discrimination and segregation in the United States in the 20th century in order to discuss her universal depiction of life and its moral dilemmas.
