The Impact of Modern Information and Communication Technologies on the Behaviour of Adolescents with Psychiatric Diagnoses

Adolescents perceive the Internet as a natural communication medium and a tool for processing information. They can access it from a mobile phone, personal computer and many other portable devices. The area of social networks, which is a common part of the adolescents’ life and style, has become the phenomenon of the young generation, but is also associated with a number of risks. The research analysed the impact of the use of modern information and communication technologies on the behaviour of six adolescent psychiatric patients. The specially designed qualitative research and analyses of technical documentation, interviews and observations have been used to compile case studies of people hospitalized due to the worsening of their mental condition. Informants showed symptoms of overuse of the Internet, or even addiction. In the online environment, they were looking for trust, friends, role models, advice, support and praise. The high number of their virtual contacts sharply contrasted with the low activity in their real life. Using the Internet intensively, they were compensating for the unfulfilled needs in their family and school life, ventilating their worries, fears and psychological pain. They got into a vicious circle, which, without expert help, steadily kept intensifying. A harmonious family background, good environment at school and classroom, actual good friends and adequate leisure time play an essential role in dealing with the overuse of or dependence on online activities. It is important that the adolescent experiences success, reward, and positive motivation. Appropriate psychotherapy and counselling services may help in cases of such problems.

Potřebujeme speciální hudební výchovu?

This paper informs the professional public with the results of the cooperation between the orchestra of the Harmony Foundation and the Children's Home Klánovice. We will evaluate this project, which brought to the Czech Republic the ideas of the Venezuelan youth program El Sistema. A combination of qualitative research tools has been used. Interviews, document analysis, and, above all, long-term observation. Although the children involved in the orchestra benefited from music activities provided, the project was abandoned after two years due to lack of theirs interest. The article attempts to identify the reasons why children did not sustain in the orchestra through their initial enthusiasm. The results obtained could help to modify similar current and future music education programs for children with specific psychosocial and social needs.

V příspěvku představujeme teoretická východiska, která byla použita jako podklad pro praktickou část diplomové práce, tj. výzkum, který byl zaměřen na ověřování dovednosti práce s textem u romských žáků na prvním stupni ZŠ na vybraných brněnských základních školách. Výsledky výzkumu byly zveřejněny na studentské vědecké konferenci v roce 2016 a rovněž budou součástí 4. čísla časopisu Komenský v červnu 2017. Nejprve stručně představujeme faktografické údaje o Romech žijících v ČR a přibližujeme pohled na vzdělávání a hodnotu vzdělání v tradiční romské rodině. Dále poukazujeme na faktory, které ovlivňují romské dětství, a vlivy působící na romského žáka žijícího v sociálně vyloučené lokalitě, jež mají vliv na jeho rozvoj, a to jak v obecné rovině, tak i v rovině rozvoje schopností a dovedností potřebných k práci s textem.

Letos jsem se stala poprvé třídní učitelkou. Ve své třídě mám kluka s autismem, budu ho v celém dokumentu jmenovat Honzou, aby se z něj stal konkrétní kluk, a nejen fiktivní postava. Honzovi je 11 let, diagnózy střídá po celou dobu školní docházky. Momentálně jsme u jeho čtvrté, která je rysy dětského autismu. Přestoupil na druhý stupeň se svými spolužáky, ti s ním chodí všech pět let studia, já ho znám pouze tři měsíce. Jeho hlavní projev je, že nemluví. Na otázku spíš něco ukáže, než že by slovně odpověděl. A velice se usmívá. Takže neustále vypadá, že je vše v pořádku.
