Немирство, умиротворение и смирение в детската поезия на Дора

Author(s): Ognyana Georgieva-Teneva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 2/2019

From the comprehensive works of Dora Gabe for children, the study abstracts a poetic paradigm: mischievousness – appeasement – humbleness. This is not an obvious, unconditional analytical approach but is one of the possible approaches which has chosen to focus on the images of the child’s soul. The study aims to defend the thesis that in the poetic mind of Dora Gabe the child has an optimistic view of life and that the child is constructive because he/she knows the pleasure of freedom.

Относно задължителността на предучилищното образование – резултати от едно изследване

Author(s): Margarita Koleva,Blaga Dzhorova,Eva Zhecheva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 8/2021

The authors present the results of a survey revealing the specificity of public claims regarding compulsory preschool education in the institution of kindergarten and specifically - the compulsory inclusion of 4-year-olds in it. Agreements and disagreements, polar opinions and alternative proposals for upbringing and educating the preschool child are an indicator of the lack of sustainable and irrefutable "evidence" of the importance of "compulsory" preschool education, as well as of the qualities of the socio-pedagogical environment in the children group and kindergarten. The paper is the second part of the authors' research on issues related to compulsory preschool education for children.

За перспективите и предизвикателствата пред „приобщаването“ на неформалното образование в лоното на образователните системи

Author(s): Silvia Nikolaeva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 9/2021

The article, based on the meta-analysis of leading current research, policies and practices, formulates and argues the author's position regarding possible strategic perspectives and challenges to the connectivity between formal and non-formal education. Two main lines of this convergence are analysed. One line is a consequence of the expanding scope of formal education systems and the other is related to the multiparadigm and flexible applicability of their connectivity, which seek opportunities to modernise traditional school and university practices to better cope with their new functions. Some underlying challenges that hamper authentic relationships between formal and non-formal education, are also analysed. In conclusion some expected long-term benefits of their joint and related dynamics are formulated.

Author(s): Margarita Marinova,Bisera Zhelyazkova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 6/2021

Today we all live in an extremely dynamic world which provokes a variety of challenges related not only to health but also to education and social isolation. It appears that many young people are motivated and ambitious to shape their own future gaining experience and confidence during the school years. Many of their ideas have a creative and rational potential which triggers socially useful initiatives and projects on regional, national or international level. Participation in eco projects, volunteering and supporting social causes combines studying and practical activities and, thus, raises the quality of education and breaks its traditional character. And when innovation is also included, the result is predetermined and winning. Using an integrated system for ecological management, “Peyo Yavorov” Secondary School has encouraged students, teachers and parents to participate in eco initiatives for more than 20 years. This enriches their knowledge and improves the environment. Focusing on the ecological education ensures better understanding of the environmental problems with their local and global impact. Different approaches are used for developing key competences which creates later an active, healthy and environmental-friendly behavior. Activities in the eco field have proved to be effective as means of raising sensitivity and responsibility aiming at the change of one’s attitude – towards themselves, the others and the environment.

On the Sound, Produced by a Coin, Rolling in a Balloon

Author(s): Denitsa Vasileva / Language(s): English Issue: 6/2021

Balloons may be a thing children love playing with, but they also have different interesting physical properties such as the sound that is produced when something is put inside a balloon. The phenomenon of interest of this article is the one of gently rolling a coin in a balloon and exploration of the sound produced by this movement. It turns out that when a coin with edges is put in a balloon and is being rolled a buzzing sound is produced which varies in frequencies depending on the count of edges of the coin. This can be observed in non-laboratory conditions. Not many experiments have been conducted to explore this phenomenon.

Author(s): Kalin Chakarov,Alexandria Gendjova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 6/2021

Chemistry is often considered a difficult subject, and the way students perceive learning affects their achievements. The research aims to identify: the topics in the secondary Chemistry curriculum perceived as difficult and as interesting by the Bulgarian students, the reasons for students’ difficulties and ways to overcome it. An inquiry was conducted with 321 students aged 16 – 17 years. According to them, the most difficult topics are Organic Chemistry and Chemical calculations (abstract and requiring specific skills). The most interesting topics are Organic Chemistry and Theory of Electrolytic Dissociation. Acids and bases. There is no significant correlation between levels of perceived difficulty and interest. Students relate difficulties to: information overload, emphasis on memorization, and lack of connections to everyday life. More lab activities and the practical application of the knowledge are recommended. Our research results can help improve Chemistry curricula and teaching practice.

Collaborative DIY music production practices in conservatoire settings: findings from a pilot distance teaching-learning project /Metode de producție muzicală colaborativă DIY în cadrul școlilor de muzică: rezultate ale unui proiect pilot de predare-

Author(s): Yannis Mygdanis,May Kokkidou / Language(s): English,Romanian Issue: 2/2021

In the last decades, the vast development of emerging technologies has transformed the ways people engage with music, expanding the affordances of music expression, creation, learning, and education. Music production software allows artists to create songs collaboratively in digital contexts, not necessarily being in physical contact. Likewise, many young people produce songs alone or with peers, constructing musical experiences through informal kinds of learning. Although several studies have focused on integrating technological-based activities in school music education, the research interest in conservatoire education is limited. The COVID-19 pandemic crisis and the need for an urgent shift to online educational environments revealed numerous problems concerning the use of technology. Both teachers and students faced difficulties to operate and effectively continue the studio lessons online. Some recognized the situation as a dead-end for conservatoire education, while others perceived it as a prompt for innovative and creative solutions. The present article discusses the findings of a pilot distance musictechnological project with adolescents in conservatoire education during the COVID-19 pandemic. The primary aim was to investigate students’ musical-technological experiences, the knowledge and skills they acquired, as well as the development of their musical creativity through collaborative DIY music production practices. In particular, our purpose was to develop a more nuanced understanding of how the students experienced their work and their learning using DAWs (Bandlab). The results support the view that merging traditional and online teaching-learning procedures in a hybrid approach can open new pathways in music education

From Deafblindness to Multiple Sensory Impairment: a few explanatory notes on definition, terminology, and historical context

From Deafblindness to Multiple Sensory Impairment: a few explanatory notes on definition, terminology, and historical context

Author(s): Cristian Buică-Belciu / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2021

In deafblindness (DB), the consequences of visual and hearing impairments are not additive, but multiplicative creating unique problems in information, communication and mobility, hence the need to recognize it as a distinct disability. There are three types of approaches that depend on several factors, taking into account the structure of educational and support services for people with DB/MSI and the nature of human, technological and financial resources. In our country, according to the law, the broadest approach is promoted, meaning the inclusion of other disabilities in addition to sight and/or hearing. In other countries there are other names that, depending on the context or user, are synonymous with DB. The huge variability of DB/MSI cases causes some specialists to refer to a spectrum disability in which there are different weights and different degrees of sensory loss, cognitive deficit, language impairments and/or somatic pathologies. All this individual “puzzle” generates a state of multi-handicap, which is reflected both in a specific pattern of learning and communication difficulties, and in the emergence of derived disabilities that hinder or obstruct the overall somatic and psychological development through restrictions on using the remaining hearing and sight.

Institucinė pagalba šeimoms, auginančioms vaikus su negalia, socialinės įtraukties kontekste: vaikų dienos centrų analizė

Author(s): Laura Gardziulevičienė / Language(s): Lithuanian Issue: 2 (51)/2021

The article examines the availability of institutional support for families raising children with disabilities. The aim of the study is to identify opportunities for social inclusion of children with disabilities in the children’s day center. Families raising children with disabilities are unable to function fully in public life due to the lack of access to services. Access to services and assistance, for the most vulnerable groups, depends on the attitude of state social policy makers, financial resources, cooperation, public involvement and, ultimately, the family’s own readiness to participate in public life. The methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization and comparative analysis of scientific literature were used in the research. The research revealed that the mechanism of children’s day care centers operating in Lithuania does not correspond to the model of creating an inclusive environment. Therefore, political decisions are needed on the development of services and the development of social inclusion at both the state and municipal levels, taking into account the needs of families raising children with disabilities. The practical significance of the study is that the study is useful for improving the accessibility of social services for families with children with disabilities and developing the concept of social inclusion.
