Polityka wielokulturowości w europejskiej przestrzeni edukacyjnej

Polityka wielokulturowości w europejskiej przestrzeni edukacyjnej

Author(s): Jerzy Zdański / Language(s): Polish Issue: 1/2011

This article relates to multiculturalism in the European educational area. The processes of globalization are equally unite and divide – as Zygmunt Bauman writes. Currently, the human individual must accept various changes and learn to live in a constantly changing world. Measures of globalization cause many questions. One of them is the question of education, teacher competencies required, the training and improvement. The teacher should be someone special, someone growing internally and as fast as the world around him. This article describes the problem of quality assurance and improvement in education of adults. The quality of adult education is a priority in the policy of member states of the European Union. The new challenges, including unprecedented demographic changes, immigration, the desire to fight social exclusion and humanistic interpretation of the human individual, become pro-quality search engine. In the educational policy of member states of the European Union preparation to the profession of teacher should lead to ensure that he was a man of multi-dimensional. It seems necessary to develop a new model of teacher education. We must recognize the uniqueness and diversity of educational situations. Teacher of the twenty-first century should be a professional developer and broad-minded, and also should be open to technical progress and use it in teaching. He must be prepared to cooperate with the educational systems of other countries, especially the European Union. Moreover, he must be passionate about, because the only teacher with a passion will be able to meet the expectations of civilizing the societies ofthe European Union: to resist the difficulties encountered by a professional. Teacher training is animportant part in shaping the educational policy of the European Union countries.

EXAMINING TOTAL ENERGY CORPORATION’S CONDUCT IN YEMEN: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF POLITICAL CORRUPTION AND SHIFTING DYNAMICS 2005-2023

Author(s): Laila ALGALAl,Chen XI / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2023

This study analyzes Total Energy's conduct in Yemen from 2005 to 2023 using an offensive realist framework. During Saleh's corrupt regime (2005-2011), Total exploited Yemen's vulnerabilities, securing an imbalanced gas agreement for short-term gains. Post-Saleh (2012-present), Yemeni governments struggled to hold Total accountable, hindered by governance challenges.Total's control over Yemen's oil and gas sector, constituting 80% of GDP, highlights the dominance of non-state entities. The total has benefited from the weak governance that prevented legal action for law violations that have been done by the corporation including violating the Yemeni laws regarding the unfair agreement, causing environmental damage, and turning the oil facility into a detention center during the Yemen war. Offensive realism explains Total's actions, prioritizing strategic interests over legal constraints in an anarchic world system that enables it to do so through being authorized by major powers. The study also explores how Total, a non-state actor, surpasses the power of a state like Yemen, providing valuable theoretical insights

Study of the Key Factors Influencing the Effective Planning and Utilization of Production Facilities in the Industrial Enterprise

Author(s): Tanya Panayotova,Krasimira Dimitrova,Neli Veleva / Language(s): English Issue: 6s/2023

In the modern world, the development of technology, machinery and equipment follows a rapid upward trend of constant innovative solutions. The problem of efficient planning and utilization of production capacity is also evolving. The question of knowing the factors affecting the development of production, which acquire other dimensions, closely related to the optimization of processes and activities and more efficient use of the main means such as machines, equipment, information technologies, etc., is increasingly relevant. The relevance of this problem is also determined by the increased integration of production technologies and the search for ways to apply flexible organizational forms for more efficient use of the equipment’s capacity. The changes introduced in the era of Industry 4.0 are now irreversible, and the time has come for the transition to Industry 5.0. Behind Industry 5.0 are technologies representing a set of complex systems, and each of the categories can realize its potential only if it is combined with the others. Industry 5.0 can be seen as a new philosophy of business, according to which technology should work for the benefit of people and society. Business organizations must further adapt to exploit the capabilities of technology and combine them with those of people in order to develop effectively, sustainably and safely. New business models are needed, which require investing less funds and resources to obtain greater benefits. Industry 5.0 means optimizing human productivity and efficiency. Taking into account these new trends that are rapidly emerging in the global business environment, this research is aimed at developing a research model of the key factors affecting the effective planning and utilization of production facilities in the industrial enterprise, based on the results of a previous study. A model is proposed to investigate the relationship between identified key factors and capacity management based on interpretive structural modeling. Turkey – 100 Years of Longing for Modernity

Turkey – 100 Years of Longing for Modernity

Author(s): Evgenia Ivanova / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2023

The text traces the painful development of Turkish modernity – a process of still ongoing clashes between the aspirations of a part of the elites to be “modern Europeans”, the unquestioning certainty of another part of them that “modernity” and “Europe/West” are by no means equivalent, and the traditional mentality of broad segments of Turkish society. At the heart of the study are two extremes: high literature (the works of Orhan Pamuk) and popular culture (television series), which reveals the wide register of possibilities for tracing the longing for modernity and its (un)realisation in Turkish reality. The original synonymy of “modernity” and “the West” that fueled the longing – from the late Ottoman Empire, through the Republican period until the end of the millennium – gradually disintegrated. In the new millennium, the official notion of achieved modernity increasingly asserted itself, however not as juxtaposition with the West, but in spite of it.

Author(s): Petya Biolcheva,Evgeni Valchev / Language(s): English Issue: 6s/2023

Corporate social responsibility affects the interests of a wide range of stakeholders, but among the most important for it are the employees themselves in the organizations. This material is aimed at increasing the efficiency of employees by reducing their personal stress levels in the work environment. For this purpose, a methodology for personal effectiveness of employees (PEE) is proposed here. PEE is a conceptual view on the collaboration of different intelligent tools to monitor the stress levels in employees and offer different individual mechanisms to deal with it, according to the specific tasks, capabilities, and psycho-physical state. The proposed methodology is considered an alternative to an accurate and impartial mechanism through which CSR can be increased, it is applicable in a wide range of businesses and has a beneficial effect on employees.

Research of the Innovation Capacity of Agricultural Producers

Author(s): Siya Veleva,Margarita Mondeshka,Anka Tsvetanova / Language(s): English Issue: 6s/2023

Bulgarian agriculture lags behind global trends in innovation activity. This is largely due to the fact that it is carried out by predominantly small owners (farmers), who usually do not have a good opportunity to introduce innovations or they underestimate their importance. The results are reduced operational efficiency and problematic development sustainability.Given this, the purpose of this publication is to briefly present the results of a study of the innovation capacity of a sample of Bulgarian farmers, as a condition for the activation of innovations. Such research has not yet been done in our country. The studied sample is not representative of Bulgarian agriculture, but the obtained results are indicative of the innovative possibilities of agricultural producers. Based on them, various comparisons can be made and analyzes relevant to theory and business practice can be carried out.
