The interwar period was characterized by a complex atmosphere, in which two major architectural trends prevailed, the trend of avant-garde and the one of return to order. In the Italian world, a significantly modernist approached contributed through its futurism, to the universal modern culture, architecture played a major role, as a unique mythical expression of eternity.The Italian world found a mostly consistent response to the call of the futurist and Italian Movement for Rational Architecture. Following this demand genuine young architects undertook enthusiastically these new conditions and provides Italy with a challenging arcitecture as a state art.

The paper examines the re-conceptualized notions of Expressionism, as a modernism movement extended in literature, painting, and film from an aesthetic point of view. Works from a range of genres will be taken as a case study and figures as diverse as Kafka, Kandinsky or Emil Nolde will be embraced, as well as some of the main manifestos and critical statements regarding Expressionism. Thus, after a survey of ideas about beauty and related concepts, questions about the value of aesthetic experience and the variety of aesthetic attitudes will be addressed.

Approaching literary texts through the prism of transdisciplinary hermeneutics opens up new perspectives for their interpretation. Literature, in this context, can be seen as a level of Reality that starts from the metaphysical world, passes through that of symbol and myth, to transgress the spatio-temporal limits and allow access to the meaning of existence. At different levels of Reality, Chira Chiralina is both a prisoner of historical time, but also the transposition of the image of the "undivided man "into fiction. At the level of textuality, she is the compositional trick of a metafiction. Creation (literary and cinematic) thus becomes a mirror of the world, of the creative act and of the human being/artist.

Prima parte a acestui articol se referă la împrejurările în care Dumitru Panaitescu-Perpessicius a scris versurile care vor forma volumul Scut și targă. Elaborate în timpul intrării României în Primul Război Mondial,poeziile au fost tipărite un deceniu mai târziu, în 1926. Autorul croniciicomentează legătura, conform unor premoniții, dintre prezența masivă auniversului clasicist greco-latin (citate, versete, evenimente etc, caractere șiautori ai latinității vechi) și pseudonimul ales în aceeași perioadă. Sunt prezentate și alte detalii biografice, detalii ale climatului cultural și social careau favorizat coliziunea autorului ascuns sub acest pseudonim cu evenimenteletragice ale acelor ani. Cert este că trauma Primului Război Mondial a lăsat urme vizibile pe efigia unui savant, unul dintre cei mai mari literați români aisecolului 20.
