War is a total struggle in the history of nations. It is a struggle for survival with man, woman, youth and elderly. It is not only the matter of the sufficiency or inadequacy of technology that is effective in the acquisition of wars. On the way to victory, there is also a need for spiritual feelings such as belief and hope. The existence of these elements cannot be denied in the Second World War, which caused the loss of life and property of millions of people in the world. In war, every country has its own slogans, posters, movies and anthem in order to bring these feelings to the highest levels with the usage of audio and visual tools. Other than these, all kinds of written texts in the art of literature are the factors that give hope and encouragement to people who struggle during the war.Russia, which started to be governed by the socialist system with the revolution, is among the countries most affected by the Second World War. In particular, this struggle against Hitler’s Germany is called “The Great Homeland War” in terms of the risks it carries. In this war of life and death, the authors are crucial because of the reason that early losses against Germany, right after the start of the war. All the writers, whether they are pro-system or anti-system, are mobilizing to keep the people strong. In this campaign, they serve their purposes very effectively. So, war changes the direction of literature. In the previous period, Russian literature, in accordance with the socialist ideology, the power of labor of the Soviet people came to the fore and in the years of war, the heroism of the people and the unseen face of the war became the main issue. There are thousands of writers, poets, journalists in this difficult process, both on the front and back.In this study, it is aimed to reveal how Russian literature, which became a guided literature after the establishment of Soviet Writers Union in 1934, changed direction with the beginning of the Second World War.
