1988 年セルビアにおける大衆運動とナショナリズム ―― ヴォイヴォディナの諸集会についての一考察 ――

Author(s): Kenta Suzuki / Language(s): Japanese Issue: 65/2018

The year of 1988 is often regarded as a period of mass political actions in the politics of Socialist Serbia and Yugoslavia. From summer to autumn of that year, a series of meetings and demonstrations erupted and spread from one place to another with mutual connections. These events first took place in Vojvodina, followed by Serbia including Kosovo and Montenegro. As a whole, they are frequently called the “anti- bureaucratic revolution,” and it is generally said that they created large popular support for the Serbian party leadership headed by Slobodan Milošević and led the escalation of nationalism in the political stages and discourse in Serbia in particular and in Yugoslavia in general. This article explores the relationship of such mass movements with nationalism, particularly focusing on the development of meetings in the Socialist Autonomous Province of Vojvodina in Serbia from July to October 1988. It attempts to gauge the extent to which nationalism, or national/nationalist values and factors, shaped various aspects of these mass movements in Vojvodina, taking two steps for this purpose: the first is to grasp national(ist) factors in the overall structure of meetings, and the second is to analyze the ways in which nationalism was being articulated, understood, and discussed in the process of meetings, addressing their individual scenes and issues.

Author(s): Hakan Yüksel / Language(s): Turkish Issue: 39/2018

The world, which has undergone a the cycle of rapid change since the 1990s, has begun to directly influence economic and social life with a process called globalization. In this global cycle, where large capital owners are involved, the media phenomenon is felt to be ineffective and the integration of technology and traditional media tools has become inevitable. As a matter of fact, switching to private broadcasting on television and radio has changed the content presented and formal formats with new communication technologies.

Posters are one of the advertising tools used to promote a product. Especially in the cinema sector, the tools used to attract viewer attention are rather limited. In this case, movie posters have a big task. Because audiences like a film poster that does not have an idea about the film and they might go for it. In such a case, we can think that the posters of the films which entered the first five in the internet movie database known as IMDB in 2016 are also the effects of the number of films watched. For this reason, these five most watched film posters have been examined in terms of typographic. Similarities and differences were sought according to film category in the typographies of the films encountered.

2018 Pink Report - Annual Report on the State of Human Rights of LGBTI Persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina

2018 Pink Report - Annual Report on the State of Human Rights of LGBTI Persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Author(s): Vladana Vasić,Emina Bošnjak,Darko Pandurević,Liam Isić,Jozo Blažević,Lejla Huremović / Language(s): English Issue: */2018

The legislative framework for protecting the human rights of LGBTI persons and ensuring their equality has improved somewhat in the past three years. However, our research on the needs and problems of the LGBTI community in BiH conducted in 2017 has shown that hate speech, discrimination and violence against the LGBTI community are still a widespread occurrence. LGBTI persons are often unable to lead a normal life or meet basic human, social or cultural needs (e.g. be open about their romantic relationships, express their gender, etc.). The fear of violence, discrimination and/or exclusion frequently results in extreme self-isolation and reluctance to engage in certain cultural or social activities, express one’s views, etc. The results of monitoring discrimination and violence throughout 2017 show that transgender persons are particularly vulnerable. Even media reporting, which is usually neutral, took a sensationalist tone and focused exclusively on the sex-reassignment process, instead of the transphobic environment and its effects on the life of transgender persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The negative trend of growing domestic violence and peer violence on the grounds of SOGISC continued in 2017. There is still no concrete, institutional plan to combat peer violence and develop an inclusive, tolerant learning environment that incorporates the LGBTI perspective. Restricting freedom of assembly of LGBTI persons through administrative obstacles on the local and cantonal level is the most alarming trend. If it continues, this trend could seriously jeopardise and limit the work of LGBTI activists and civil society organisations that work on protecting the rights of LGBTI persons. Unfortunately, the growing violence, discrimination and restriction of the rights and freedoms of LGBTI persons elicited only sporadic responses from most institutions in charge of protecting and promoting human rights, including the rights of LGBTI persons. This creates a climate in which alleged security issues, assessed by various social actors who should not and cannot make decisions impacting people’s rights and freedoms, take precedence over protecting the rights and freedoms of LGBTI persons and ensuring equal treatment. The lack of a systematic, quick and adequate response from the authorities may further undermine the faith of LGBTI persons in the institutions, especially those most responsible for protecting human rights: the police and judiciary, as well as local institutions in charge of providing services to LGBTI citizens.

The study employed the qualitative research design. The study group of the current research is comprised of 17 faculty members working in the departments of Turkish teaching in different universities and responding to an online interview form on a volunteer basis. The opinions of the participating faculty members were collected by using a Written Opinion Seeking Form. The draft form was submitted to review of experts in the fields of Turkish teaching, curriculum development and measurement and evaluation and then its final form was given. The form consists of 4 open-ended questions to elicit personal information and 12 open-ended questions to elicit opinions about the curriculum. The form was sent to the institutional e-mail addresses of faculty members. A total of 17 faculty members returned the forms from which the data of the current study were obtained. In the analysis of the collected data, the descriptive analysis approach was used. The themes were constructed on the basis of the interview questions. The data were analyzed within the framework of the determined themes and thus codes were created and then interpreted with the support of direct quotations. As a result of the current study, it was found that the faculty members generally expressed negative opinions. Particular criticism was levelled to the reduction of class hours and time allocated to practice, abolishment of some courses, and greater emphasis put on theory rather than practice.

75. KIYÂME SURESİNİN 16-19. AYETLERİNİN ANLAŞILMA SORUNLARI ÜZERİNE

Author(s): Süleyman Gezer / Language(s): Turkish Issue: 3/2018

This study deals with the issues of understanding of 16-19th verses of Kıyamah Surah [75]. According to the traditional view, the verses are portrayed as the Prophet's attempt to replay the language with the fear of forgetting revelation during his revelation, and to try to memorize the words spoken to him. Today, however, these verses, contrary to the traditional understanding, are handled in a way that portrays the situation of sinful people in the hereafter. As a reason for such interpretation, it is shown that the verses of the subject matter do not comply with other passages of the surah. The main reason for defending this view is that the Qur'an is viewed and evaluated as a whole within itself.

A Basic Necessity of a Modern Fiscal Policy: Voluntary Compliance

A Basic Necessity of a Modern Fiscal Policy: Voluntary Compliance

Author(s): Narcis Eduard Mitu / Language(s): English Issue: 57/2018

Paying taxes can be considered a contribution to the welfare of a society. Taxpayers should perceive the exchange between tax payments and provision of public goods and services as higher. Taxpayers' willingness to cooperate with the state and its institutions in general, and their willingness to pay taxes in particular, depend on a variety of variables. While researchers in the field of taxation highlights the relevance of external variables such as tax rate, income and probability of audits and severity of fines, psychological research shows that internal variables are of similar importance. In this article we present a view on the relevance of citizens' knowledge of tax law, their attitudes towards the government and taxation, fiscal language, level of tax education, as well as motivational tendencies to comply.

A Bologna-rendszerű tanárképzés hazai vitapontjai: a kilengő mérlegelés

Author(s): György Hunyady / Language(s): Hungarian Issue: 3/2009

The points of debate within teacher training in the Bologna system have led to differing evaluations. The radical reform concept put forward by the Ministry of Education and the markedly opposing opinions of Eötvös Loránd University clashed with each other in 2003, when the Hungarian model of teacher training within the Bologna system was born. In the course of the development of the Hungarian model, professional and organizational conflicts were resolved via compromise decisions; however, the resulting – and profound – changes brought about new tensions. This study points to the 5 main features (teacher training only at the master level, integrating professional and pedagogical knowledge, dual qualifications, the importance of empirical competence and organizational emphasis, volume and selection) of the model that has had its introductory phase in 2009; while it also presents the main objections against them, and lists and discusses the arguments in favor of revision. The history of the reform is, at the present time, too short and as yet unsettled for us to be able to draw final, empirical conclusions in relation to its direction and achievements. One thing is certain, however: the radical changes brought about in public and higher-level education make restoration of the form of teacher education present before the Bologna process impossible.

A case of severe adolescent obsessive–compulsive disorder treated with inpatient hospitalization, risperidone and sertraline

Author(s): Mathew L. Nguyen,Michael A. Shapiro,Stephen J. Welch / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2012

The initial treatment of obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) has generally been limited to serotonergic agents, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), or a combination of the two. These findings were supported by the POTS study for OCD in children and adolescents. However, treatment with serotonergic agents or CBT can take several weeks before benefit is seen; severe cases of OCD may require more immediate treatment. Case report: The authors present a case of severe OCD in an adolescent that required immediate treatment due to her critical medical condition. The patient’s symptoms included not eating or taking medications or fluids by mouth due to fears of contamination. A medical hospitalization was previously required due to dehydration. As treatment with an SSRI would not have quick enough onset and the patient was initially resistant to participating in CBT, the patient was psychiatrically hospitalized and first started on liquid risperidone. After several doses of risperidone, the patient was able to participate in CBT and start sertraline. Discussion: The authors discuss the differential diagnosis of such a patient, including the continuum of OCD symptoms and psychotic symptoms. The authors discuss the different treatment options, including the utilization of inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. The authors discuss the potential risks and benefits of using atypical antipsychotics in lieu of benzodiazepines for the initial treatment of severe adolescent OCD. The authors also discuss other current treatment recommendations and rationale for the treatment that was pursued. Conclusions: This patient received benefit of her symptoms relatively quickly with psychiatric hospitalization and an atypical antipsychotic. The diagnosis of a psychotic disorder should be considered. These treatment options must be weighed against the risks of atypical antipsychotics, including extrapyramidal symptoms, weight gain, and metabolic syndrome; benzodiazepines also have their risks and benefits. Additionally, the cost of time and finances of inpatient hospitalization must be considered. More research is needed regarding the short- and long-term efficacy and safety of antipsychotics in the treatment of OCD in the child and adolescent population.
