Тревогата в психоанализата

Тревогата в психоанализата

Author(s): Milena Motsinova-Brachkova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2013

Тhe article presents anxiety as fundamental to psychoanalytic understanding of the nature of man as a speaking being and his mental functioning. As a reason for anxiety initially Sigmund Freud indicates suppression of mental images in which the remainder of not symbolized libido raises concern. Second version of Freud presents anxiety as a product of the loss of an object; castration, associated with the Оedipal complex, implies the absence of the object. One part of the libido remains inaccessible to symbolization and that this part of the libido Jacques Lacan would call Real. Lacan regarded libido problems beyond phallic and Oedipal complex. By introducing the subject „little a” it shows that anxiety is objectless. The site „little a” functions as a lost object – oral object (the breast), the anal object, gaze, voice. The symptom is a therapeutic key to anxiety in psychoanalysis. Analytical work with the symptoms depends on the psychic structure of the subject – neurotic or psychotic structure. Analysis began because anxiety or some painful symptoms, associated with dysfunction and ends with a new final symptom that helps man to name the unnameable part of his being, and in fact this is a new way of living.

Author(s): George A. Madzharov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2013

In the middle of the life (35-45) each person focuses changes from where one is going to where one has been. People become concerned about their accomplishments - whether they have fulfilled their dreams. Aspects suppressed in early adulthood are reassessed. People begin notice physical declines and feel no longer young. For some this brings reconfirmation, for others turmoil and changes in career, relationships, other activities. Levinson’s and Sheehy’s description of adult life cycle stages are the more solid explanations nowadays.

Въведение в теорията на когнитивния дисонанс

Author(s): Presiyan Burgov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2012

The aim of the present paper is to comment on the most important aspects of the cognitive dissonance theory. The latter offers a possible explanation of the ways in which information is selected, of the structure of the cognitive system and the pursuit of harmony and preservation of the Ego. The excitation of the cognitive dissonance between the elements of the cognitive system of the Ego may be the result of different causes but its presence gives rise to tension and psychic discomfort that motivates the Ego to reduce or eliminate it. The cognitive dissonance may be reduced through a change in the behavioral cognitive elements, in the cognitive elements of the environment or in the addition of new elements intensifying one decision instead another. The original ideas of the theory help generate a lot of conceptual and experimental research that enables researchers to broaden its application in the disclosure of the enigmas of human existence.

Измерване на нагласата към смъртта

Author(s): Doncho Donev / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2012

Attitudes are one of the most studied phenomena in psychology. There are many methods for measuring the direction and intensity, which are used in practice. However, existing procedures show significant deficits in an effort to be applied to measure attitudes toward death. Reasons for this can be found both in methodology and in death as an object of attitudes. It is very dimensional and multi-category that is difficult to study directly.

Wykorzystanie metody Kids’ Skill – Dam Radę! Bena Furmana w terapii dzieci z jąkaniem w wieku przedszkolnym i wczesnoszkolnym

Author(s): Maria Faściszewska / Language(s): Polish Issue: 10/2022

Maria Faściszewska’s aim in this article is to present a therapeutic program which involves the use of Ben Furman’s Kids’ Skills (2010) method in the therapy of pre- and early-school stuttering children. The method is based on the Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), as well as the Ericksonian therapies, systemic and narrative (Furman, 2010). Currently, speech and language therapists are increasingly drawing on the Solution Focused Brief Therapy when working with individuals with a variety of communication disorders including stuttering (Fourlas, Ntourou, 2021; Kelman, Nicholas, 2020; Nicholas, 2015). When discussing the 15 steps of Ben Furman’s Kids’ Skills method and discussing the questions asked by a therapist and the techniques used, Faściszewska examines how this approach can be adapted to children who stutter. The key idea of Kids’ Skills method is that we can interpret a child’s problems in terms of their lack of certain skills which can be acquired. The aim of the method is to encourage and help the child to learn a new skill, while reinforcing the skills they already have, to help them overcome their difficulties. The program is firmly based on a cooperation with the child’s closest social circle: their parents, their siblings, and the school. The therapy for pre- and early-school age children who stutter should integrate cognitive, behavioral, and affective components. The program outlines how the Kids’ Skills method can be used in four key areas of working with a stuttering child. These areas are: 1. Being open about stuttering; 2. Using techniques/strategies to control stuttering; 3. Communicating effectively; 4. Understanding and dealing with feelings, reactions, and beliefs associated with stuttering. This method allows for a great deal of flexibility and adaptation to the needs of pre- and early-school stuttering children and their parents/carers. However, the therapist must have an adequate understanding of the Kids’ Skills method, of the difficulties that may occur, of the emotions experienced by stutterers and their families. Experience in using different therapeutic methods with stuttering children is also required.

Jakie transformacje energetyczne na rzecz trzech ekologii? Entropie, ekologie i gospodarka w antropocenie

Jakie transformacje energetyczne na rzecz trzech ekologii? Entropie, ekologie i gospodarka w antropocenie

Author(s): Anne Alombert / Language(s): Polish Issue: 44/2022

This article considers the contemporary ecological crisis a triple problem of environmental ecology, mental ecology and social ecology: while natural ecosystems are threatened by industrial infrastructures, which exploit mineral resources at the service of a globalized consumerist economy, psychic and social ecosystems are threatened by connected devices, which exploit libidinal resources at the service of attention economy and data economy. This triple ecological crisis is described in the article as a process of increasing entropy at different levels (thermodynamic, biological and informational or psycho-social levels). In order to reverse this process a double energetic transition is needed – a transition which would save and take care of energy generated from mineral resources, as well as of psychic and libidinal energy. The article relies on the works of Nicholas Georgescu-Roegen and Bernard Stiegler, who envisage this transition as a fight against the increase in entropy on the physical and environmental levels on the one hand, and on the psychic, technical and social levels on the other.

Zapis „żałosnego, irlandzkiego dzieciństwa” w dylogii autobiograficznej Franka McCourta

Zapis „żałosnego, irlandzkiego dzieciństwa” w dylogii autobiograficznej Franka McCourta

Author(s): Magdalena Krzyżanowska / Language(s): Polish Issue: 1/2022

The article aims to analyse and interpret the topic of poverty in the memories of Frank McCourt (Angela’s Ashes and ‘Tis). Using sociological literature by, i.a, Ruth Lister and Zygmunt Bauman, the study presents the biography of the protagonist and his mother, marked by the phenomenon of inherited poverty. Drawing attention to the problem of irony and intertextuality in the literary works, the author argues that language is insufficient to express the experience of poverty and to be individualised from its system. The author of the article puts forward the thesis that the Irish writer’s dilogy is only seemingly of a confessional and personal nature, being more a story about the universal fate of an Irishman, a person affected by the problem of poverty.

Bezdomność i wiedza. O ranach dzieciństwa w „Płynąc do domu” Deborah Levy

Bezdomność i wiedza. O ranach dzieciństwa w „Płynąc do domu” Deborah Levy

Author(s): Anna Kisiel / Language(s): Polish Issue: 1/2022

The aim of this article is to analyse childhood wounds of Joe Jacobs, the protagonist of Deborah Levy’s novel Swimming Home, through the prism of psychoanalytically grounded trauma studies. By means of studying Jacobs’s family life and his precarious relationship with Kitty Finch, a woman he has just met, I demonstrate how trauma and an unceasing sense of homelessness construct the protagonist’s identity. I note that Jacobs, a Holocaust survivor, strives for – but is incapable of – coming home, while Kitty functions as a mirror that reflects his repressed self-knowledge. As it turns out at the end of the novel, it is Kitty who guides him home: home which, as a locus of trauma, happens to be accessible only through death.
